Brown Bag

The Brown Bag is a great way to introduce, present, or review a concept.

1. Assign a topic.

2. Give each student a brown lunch bag.

3. Instruct each student to fill his or her bag with items that explain the topic.

4. Have each student empty and present the contents of the bag to the rest of the class.

Helpful tips:

1. Give a minimum and maximum number of items that can be placed in the bag.

2. Create a chart that goes with the brown bag where the student lists each item in the bag and briefly explain why they chose this item. This serves as a grading sheet for you.

3. Use as an out-of-classroom assignment to change things up. Then start your class the next meeting with the presentations.
